EAÜ board direct grants
he EAÜ Board provides direct grants for initiatives and activities aimed at the following objectives:
- Recognition of authors and promoting the value of being an author;
- Studies related to copyright;
- Projects with an exceptional and broad-reaching impact on the appreciation of Estonian authors and the expansion of their opportunities.
In the field of author recognition
Over the years, EAÜ has supported various initiatives, such as the prize fund for Eesti Laul, the Sumera Prize (prize fund), the organization of the Estonian Music Awards and the Estonian Music Entrepreneurship Awards gala, the Estonian Jazz Award (prize fund for the Jazz Composer of the Year), the Golden Record Award, the Theatre Award (awards for original music in stage productions and the Viive Ernesaks Award for musical and/or sound design), the Uno Naissoo Composition Competition, and the Solistica Competition.
Within its possibilities, the EAÜ Board is also willing to consider supporting other activities aimed at recognizing authors, including one-time initiatives.
Scholarship for copyright studies
Supporting copyright studies through a scholarship is a new initiative at EAÜ. The scholarship is intended as a one-time grant, meaning that students enrolled in multi-year programs must reapply each year (the allocation of funding largely depends on the availability of resources).
The goal of this support is to encourage and facilitate Estonian citizens who wish to acquire or enhance specialized expertise in copyright law. This may include both degree programs and one-time courses offered by recognized experts.
As part of the scholarship conditions, a mutual agreement of intent will be established, under which the recipient commits to reasonably sharing their expertise for the benefit of Estonian authors and EAÜ in the future.
Extraordinary initiatives for industry development
The EAÜ Board is, within its means, willing to support initiatives and projects that have an exceptional and broad-reaching impact on enhancing opportunities for Estonian authors and promoting the value of their creative work.
This support is not intended for recurring events, such as annual activities, nor for covering the operational costs of organizations.
Application process for EAÜ board grants
The application process for EAÜ board grants follows a similar procedure to the EAÜ grant.
Application deadline: February 16
Applications must be submitted using the designated FORM, which should include details about the project’s objectives and content, its relevance to the grant’s goals, budget, expected outcomes, and impact.
The EAÜ board will review the applications, make decisions, and publish the results in March.
The EAÜ board reserves the right to request additional information and clarifications regarding the application, applicant, or project. If necessary, a reporting obligation may also be set to ensure better insight into the project’s results and impact.
Grant decisions are based on the relevance, quality, and alignment of the project with the priorities of the funding round, as well as the availability of budgetary resources.
