The Danish company, Nordic Film Composers Network, is conducting a survey among composers with the aim of finding out what the working conditions are like for composers in the rapidly changing world of film and media. How many composers assign their copyright to a production company? How is 2023 survery different from 2021 survey?
In 2021 the Nordic Film Composers Network carried out a, first of its kind, survey with the Nordic film and media composers. It showed that 50% of responders had been pushed to transfer part of their copyright and 33% of the Nordic film and media composers lost the job, when turning down “the offer” from the production company. This year they are also including the Baltic countries in their survey.
