Recordings of concerts or other music-related events for use on the internet
If you want to record a concert or any other music-related event and make the recording available online either for a fee or for free, you must obtain a separate permit. The license fee rate depends, among other things, on whether listening and viewing of the recording is free for those interested, and on how long the recording remains available for listening and viewing by the public on the web.
1. Events with the entrance fee and revenue events
Type of recording | Category of music | Area of use | Fee rate | Minimum fee |
---|---|---|---|---|
Recording and live streaming of a concert or other music-related event | All musical works represented by EAÜ | Making available to the public on the internet without time limit | 12% of the received income | 25 € |
The license fee rate here applies to the right to record performances of musical works included in the repertoire registered in EAU at concerts and other music-related events and to make them available to the public on the Internet, whereby users must pay a fixed ticket fee or a subsidy amount of their choice for viewing and/or listening to them. In addition, the payment of the license fee entitles the recorded concert or other music-related event to be broadcast live to the public on a specific website or internet platform for a fee. Through this online page or platform, users can watch and listen to the event in real time, having paid either the ticket fee or the subsidy amount of their choice in advance.
2. Events without entrance fee

---|---|---|---|---|
Recording and live streaming of a concert or other music-related event | All musical works represented by EAÜ | Making available to the public on the internet without time limit | 0.03 € for every recorded second of of music | 25 € for one event |

By paying the license fee, the licensee acquires the right to upload the recording to the internet and make it available to the public through its website, provided that it is available to the public free of charge. In addition, the payment of the license fee entitles the recorded concert or other music-related event to be broadcast live to the public on one specific website or internet platform, provided that it can be viewed and listened to free of charge.
NB! The licence fee rates shown here do not include the amount of VAT to be added by the EAÜ under the Value-Added Tax Act, which is calculated on the EAÜ’s commission and shown as a separate line on the invoice submitted by the EAÜ.
